Vaccines

As can be seen, Russia is very much investing in the production of vaccines that will fight off cancers. As of February 2024, Putin commented on the making of vaccines that will enable this country to recognize and destroy its cancerous cells.

What is a Cancer Vaccine?

A cancer vaccine would assist the body's immune system to find and attack the cancer cells, similar to the vaccines that help protect the body from diseases such as measles or chickenpox. It does this by teaching the immune system to identify special markers on the cancer cells so it can fight them.

Russia's Progress

Russian scientists are working very hard to develop these vaccines. President Putin has mentioned that they are very close to the breakthrough, which could bring new hope to cancer patients.

How Do Cancer Vaccines Work?

Cancer vaccines work by the use of a compound called mRNA, which instructs cells on how to create proteins associated with cancer cells. In this manner, the body can be educated on how to target the cancer. Science has proved that mRNA-based cancer vaccines can indeed be a powerful way to treat cancer.
